Adapting to The Lockdown In UK

The lockdown caused by Covid-19 was a situation no one could have predicted

Widespread shutting of businesses and schools is entirely unprecedented in the UK

Forced loss of custom was and still is a terrifying prospect for small businesses

Government help goes some way to help, but businesses still need support during and beyond lockdown

Watching our local businesses adapt in the weeks that followed lockdown was incredible

Fitness classes went online, restaurants served takeaway, farm shops and grocers offered delivery and Designer-Makers sent notes and gifts to loved ones.

Our business community worked hard to keep food on the tables of those in need and others made life more bearable. They’ve worked hard to adapt and keep you all safe and well.

We made this film as we want to show the public the faces behind our businesses so you can remember them, but also know that they represent many, many more.

We want everyone to know that every order, subscription, recommendation, social media like or share or purchase makes a difference.  We wanted to remind you of the range of businesses we have in our community and to seek them out. Our businesses are the lifeblood of communities and we would like to see them here to stay for many years to come.

Thank you to everyone involved
